Phoenix

Inspired by a small plastic figurine, this piece became my interpretation of either a Fire Bird or the legendary Phoenix. Regardless of the name, I hope I was able to capture the epic presence of this mythical creature and the powerful symbolism it represents.

Fire is often associated with destruction, but it is also one of nature's greatest forces of renewal. It returns nutrients to the soil, clears away accumulated vegetation, and in many ecosystems helps maintain biodiversity by literally burning away the competition. In this way, fire becomes an essential tool for conservation and the continuation of life.

As for the artwork itself, I challenged myself to recreate the movement, intensity, and glow of flames using digital brushes in Procreate. Whether I succeeded or not is for you to decide—but I certainly had fun trying to make digital fire come alive.

Axolotls

This piece began as nothing more than a collection of simple circles. As I sketched, I started adding eyes to each one, initially imagining them as tiny, fuzzy alien creatures. Before long, however, the concept evolved into something entirely different: translucent amphibian eggs, each containing a curious embryo peering out into the world.

From there, I embraced a more whimsical direction, transforming the embryos into cartoon-style axolotls. While I am aware that real axolotls hatch in a larval stage without fully developed legs and remain in a neotenic state throughout their lives, I chose to give each embryo its limbs early. This artistic decision allowed them to be instantly recognizable as axolotls rather than resembling the more generic larvae of other caudates..

Although playful and stylized, this piece reflects how a simple sketch can grow into an imaginative scene where creativity takes precedence over strict biological accuracy.

Mongol Warrior and Her Utah Raptor Mount

This is the latest piece in my digital gallery.  While I certainly don't consider myself a master illustrator, every piece has been an opportunity to learn and grow. For this artwork, I used an outline generated in Gemini and then brought it to life in Procreate, adding my own colors, textures, and personal touches.

I've always been fascinated by dinosaurs, especially the incredible dromaeosaurs like the Utahraptor. At the same time, I've long admired the Mongols—their nomadic culture, legendary horsemanship, and warrior spirit. It seemed only natural to combine these two passions into a single image.

Wanting the Utahraptor to stand out, I gave its feathers a vibrant splash of color. The bright yellow may be a little unconventional, but I decided to keep it anyway—it gives the creature its own unique personality. The Mongol warrior's clothing is inspired by historically accurate attire, although I admittedly took some artistic liberties with the color palette. Fashion and color coordination have never been my greatest strengths, but hopefully the combination works well enough to bring the scene to life.

More than anything, this piece reflects my lifelong love of fantasy and science fiction. I didn't begin with a specific story in mind—only the image of a warrior standing beside one of history's most remarkable predators. Sometimes a single image is enough to spark an adventure, leaving the story to the imagination of whoever views it.
